Our Needs (Your Opportunity)
The center is a non-profit agency and donations are tax deductible. If you find it in your heart to assist us in our mission, please contact the center. We will be grateful for your support of our mission to continue to provide needed services within the community.
“If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, Pressed down, Shaken together to make room for more, And running over. Whatever measure you use in giving- Large or small-It will be used to measure what is given back to you.”

Our facility is over 100 years old and with your help we have been able to address critical areas in need of repair and maintenance, however the need continues. With the addition of an elevator and handicapped access the cost of utilities and maintenance has increased. We also have been working hard to address the needs of the Adult Education Department that currently has a waiting list for classroom space.
We are making a special appeal for Personal Care Items. Deodorant (men’s and women’s), Shaving Cream and disposable razors, Tooth Brushes, Tooth Paste, and Shampoo. THANK YOU!
We routinely accept in-kind donations of usable items (Clothing, Shoes, Housewares, Small Appliances, Seasonal Items, etc.) for our thrift shop. We can always use Office Supplies (Reams of white and color printer paper, pens, pencils, paper clips, markers etc.) Twice a year we offer school supplies for children first at the start of school in September, then again mid-term in Janurary. Excess prepared food from restaurants, banquet facilities for our dining room. We also accept non-perishable food items (can goods, pasta etc. For a more complete list see below. It is best to contact the center before conducting a drive, since we routinely receive large donations in some areas, while other areas have greater need.
If you would like to volunteer your time and talent at the center, we could use your help. Contact Kathleen, our volunteer coordinator, and she will provide you with an application and orientation. Then she will determine where we can best use your talents. Besides the dining room, we can use people to help with transportation, data entry and other special projects.
**Our average utilities bill in the winter tops $5,000+ a month. Although the center routinely applies for grant money and corporate donations, many of these require matching funds from the community and other sources.
